	Seven Samurai	Akira Kurosawa and Toshiro Mifune's best samurai epic. You can see how Kurosawa was influenced by the American Western, so much so that it was remade as The Magnificent Seven.
	Down By Law	Jim Jarmusch and Tom Waits. Doesn't get any better than this.
	Big Lebowski	The Coen Bros make a lot of really good movies, but this one is on top. Has one of the greatest lines in a movie of all time "This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass! "
	Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind	Sodo introduced this to me after it came out and it is still my favorite flick. I fuckin adore this movie. If you read this site, I don't need to elaborate.
	Big Trouble In Little China	The best John Carpenter/Kurt Russell colaboration. Jack Burton has the best one-liners...ever. "Ok, you people! Sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president."
	Repo Man	Punk rock classic. Harry Dean Stanton is a hardcore motherfucker. "Look at 'em, ordinary fucking people, I hate 'em."
	El Mariachi	Punk DIY ethic done up right. Can't get a movie financed in Hollywood? Take it to Mexico and hire your family to act in it. Robert Rodriguez made this movie for $7K, and it's a lot more interesting than most multi-million dollar flicks.
	Mousehunt	This movie is fucking hilarious. they just don't make slapstick comedy like this anymore. A live action Tom & Jerry would hope to be so good. Nathan Lane and Christopher Walken are killer funny. "We're looking for a cat. And preferably with a history of mental illness. I'm talkin' one mean pussy."
	LA Confidential	Excellent LA noir flick with a killer cast; Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Danny DeVito, Kim Basinger. James Cromwell does a great turn to be one of the most loathsome villians.
	Animal Crackers	You wanna talk about subversive films? Just listen to what Groucho gets away with under his breath. Ah vaudeville, comedy for the masses. "Africa is God's country, and he can have it." "Tell me, what do you think of the traffic problem? What do you think of the marriage problem? What do you think of at night when you go to bed, you beast?" "I'm sick of these conventional marriages. One woman and one man was good enough for your grandmother, but who wants to marry your grandmother? Nobody, not even your grandfather."

	Heavy Trash Heavy Trash	A new side project for Jon Spencer of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Matt Verta-Ray of Speedball Baby. Very down and dirty rockabilly with a heaping helping of some old school honky-tonk. You will never think of Gatoraid in the same way.
	Everclear World of Noise	Everclear is one of the best pop-punk bands and it's a shame they are so under-rated. Fire Maple Song is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time.
	Minor Threat Complete Discography	sXe mother fuckers!
	Ministry Filth Pig	Old Uncle Al is going to smack you over the head with a massive beat. Their version of Bob Dylan's Lay Lady Lay alway sgoes on my Covers compilations.
	Operation Ivy Energy	For a band that only existed from May 1987 to May 1989, Op Ivy had a huge impact on the punk scene. Energy is an appropriate name for this album. From Op Ivy birthed the bands Rancid and Scholng.
	Social Distortion Social Distortion	This was the album that taught me that Johnny Cash was a puck rocker.
	Vandals Live Fast Diarrhea	How can you not like a band that covers Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? Huh? What? Thought so.
	The Specials The Specials	The greatest of the Two-Tone Ska bands. They made the transition from Old School to Third Gen possible.
	Misfits Collection II	The most important of the Misfit genre. Although I prefer Graves to Danzig - this is a keeper.
	The Specials The Singles Collection	London Ska isn't a purists take always, but give this a listen. The best Ska a whiteboy can perform. (Purists check: Desmond Dekker amd The Ska-talites)
	Dropkick Murphys Do or Die	Hardcore Boston skinhead punks. Keeping it real for the working class blokes. Drinking and fighting, it's what the Irish do best, in that order.
	Butter 08 Butter 08	This album is so fantasticly tight. It has Russell Simons on drums from John Spencer Blues Explosion, and the chicks from Cibo Mato. It is rough and smooth. Groovy and rocking. Massively awesome all around.
